Our Mission
We Care is a partnership of Lake County organizations, and we exist to provide donated care to low income, uninsured people. With the support of three hospital health systems, We Care is able to play a leadership role in allocating scarce healthcare resources. This leadership role is moving toward the sharing of data, coordinating best-practice guidelines of care, cooperation in producing improved patient and financial outcomes, and strategic positioning of needed healthcare resources.
We Care of Lake County is an independent 501(C)(3) non-profit organization that was established in 1994 by the Lake-Sumter Medical Society. Our organization has a working Board of Directors, receives base funding from the Lake County Board of County Commissioners, and enjoys a staff of dedicated and compassionate employees.
We Care of Lake County provides case management utilizing volunteer specialty physicians. Once assigned to a physician, clients will see their assigned doctor in the privacy of the physician's office during regular business hours. Our clients are closely monitored by a Case Manager who oversees all appointments and care.
